A Brazilian Town of ONLY women is looking for Men!!! Are you Interested?

This is a special post for my male readers 🙂

models

Can you just picture it? ALL women…many at that perfect age. And they are exotic! In Brazil! Speaking with that awesomely sexy accent!…And they are seeking men. They are seeking …YOU.  Read more here…

Come on…it’s time to book your flight ticket to Brazil.

This is an really interesting article though. I did say it was for the boys, but really this is some serious Feminism at work. I personally like to have my men around, but even so, I totally support “Sisters Doin’ It For Themselves”. Sometimes they are forced to, and sometimes they choose to, but the point is…They CAN!

It’s like BeyoncĂŠ says:

“Chunking” AKA Baby Steps to Achievement

Had a great call with the Mastermind Group last night. (Shout out to Project AWOL!!!) Here is one of the powerful nuggets that was shared and discussed. It puts a whole new twist to the word “Chunking”

chunking1See…that is what I would be thinking too! Chunks of Chocolate, chunks of anything good and yummy and sweet to eat.

But that is not what we were talking about.

The chunks we are talking about here pertain to Goal Settings and Achievement.

Say you want to read a certain book. Let’s make it Tolstoy’s War and Peace for the extra challenge. Now we all know you are very busy and so, when on earth are you going to find the time to finish this book. You can barely make it through the newspaper.

But even with your limited time, it CAN be done. How? You guessed it…

Chunking!

So you have all of 5 minutes a day to dedicate to your reading project and you can read about 2 pages in 5 minutes. Ok, so you could read 2 pages per day and you will finish all 1455 pages in 727 days, which is about 2 years. Hey, you would have finished the book!! Which is more than most people can say.

And that’s what chunking really is!

Whatever your goal is. Whatever you are intending to achieve.

baby steps

Sometimes you look at a goal and become overwhelmed. It is so big, so out there. Is it even possible?? By chunking it, it IS possible. Take baby steps. Do a little bit every day in the right direction and you WILL reach your goal.

Naturally, this applies to building your online business as well and is a very pertinent message.

We all know that there is much money to be made on line. But then we hop into a business and foolishly think that in no time, we will become super rich.

Er…no!…baby steps…chunking!

baby steps3

You want to make $10000 a month? Break it down into steps…how many sales do you have to make to do that? what do you have to do to make those sales? how many hours do you have to dedicate to achieve that? per week? per day?

Your first check MAY be a $10,000 check, after all nothing is impossible, but most likely it will not be. More like $100…may be even $25. But that first check of just $25 is the same thing as those first few pages of War and Peace. Baby steps. Bit by bit. Chunk by chunk….you’ll get there!

Another reason and method to chunk is that it if we chunk similar activities together, it will make us that much more productive, because we don’t have to switch gears between activities during a given chunk. This makes it easier to focus, and truly get done what you set out to do in that assigned amount of time.

chunking

So here’s to Chunking! Now let’s get out there, set some goals, chunk them and achieve them.

Write in and let’s see how we are all doing.

Stay Blessed!

Susan 🙂

This Week in Medical History- Sir Ronald Ross

I have always had a thing for Medical History and News, (probably because of my own medical background) And this article is close to home for me because I grew up in Nigeria where Malaria was rampant. The developments in Medicine that made this possibly fatal disease so easily treatable were amazing and appreciated.

I hope you enjoy this interesting article about a very remarkable individual who was not only a Medical Scientist but was also a mathematician, epidemiologist, sanitarian, editor, novelist, dramatist, poet, amateur musician, composer, and artist.

I have also included one of his poems.

On August 20, 1897, Sir Ronald Ross discovered how malaria is transmitted.

Sir Ronald Ross

While dissecting the stomach tissue of an Anopheles mosquito in his laboratory in India, Ross found the malaria parasite and ultimately proved that mosquitos are responsible for transmitting malaria to humans.

Ross also studied malarial parasites in birds and identified mosquitos as intermediate hosts for both avian and human malaria.

Ross’s discoveries provided an enormous advantage in tackling malaria prevention throughout the world.  Read More…

THE FATHER By Sir Ronald Ross

Come with me then, my son;
Thine eyes are wide for truth:
And I will give thee memories,
And thou shalt give me youth.
The lake laps in silver,
       The streamlet leaps her length:
And I will give thee wisdom,
And thou shalt give me strength.
The mist is on the moorland,
       The rain roughs the reed:
And I will give thee patience,
And thou shalt give me speed.
When lightnings lash the skyline
Then thou shalt learn thy part:
And when the heav’ns are direst,
For thee to give me heart.
Forthrightness I will teach thee;
       The vision and the scope;
To hold the hand of honour:—
       And thou shalt give me hope;
And when the heav’ns are deepest
       And stars most bright above;
May God then teach thee duty;
And thou shalt teach me love.

99-Year-Old Sprinter Sets World Record: “I’m Running From Old Age…”

Put away your “I can’t” attitude!

Yes you CAN!

Now just get out there and do it!!!

Read about Ida Keeling – 99 years old and making NO excuses!

Neither should YOU! 🙂

Ida Keeling

Run Ida, run! 99-year-old great-great-grandmother sets a new world record for the 100 meter sprint at Gay Games

  • Ida Keeling from New York City ran 100 meters in 59.8 seconds on Tuesday at the Gay Games in Akron, Ohio
  • The sporting event is LGBT but not everyone who takes part is
  • Although she finished last, Ms Keeling set a new record for her age group
  • She took up running at the age of 67 and trains in the corridors of her Bronx apartment block
  • When it comes to diet she prefers to eat her evening meal – a hamburger, fish, or liver – for breakfast because it gives her ‘fuel for the day’

By Sadie Whitelocks

Ida Keeling from New York City achieved the feat on Tuesday at the Gay Games in Akron, Ohio.

Wearing her favorite gold Nike sneakers and Lycras, the 4ft 6in, 83lb former factory worker raced along the track in temperatures topping 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

When she reached the finish line spectators greeted her with a round of applause.

Her coach and daughter, Shelley Kelling, also went to give her a big hug.

‘Mom is amazing even to me,’ Ms Kelling said of her mother. ‘I have to admit that. She is a remarkable human being.’

Although the great-great-grandmother finished last in the 100 meters, it is believed no woman her age has ever recorded a faster time in an internationally-certified race.

It’s not the first record the senior has set.

In 2011 Ms Keeling achieved a world best for her age group in the 60 meters with a time of 29.86 seconds on the track.

She participated in the race alongside girls a quarter of her age.

The jogger said at the time: ‘I feel like a puppy. I feel younger now than when I was in my 30s and 40s.’

Ms Keeling, whose husband died of a heart attack at the age of 42, decided to take up running nearly 30 years ago.

Her lawyer daughter, who coaches track and field at a nearby high school, convinced her to give it a try at the age of 67.

And after a life of sadness – she also lost two sons, Charles and Donald, to drug-related killings in 1979 and 1981 – the senior citizen found refuge in running.

‘It felt good, and I felt uplifted,’ she previously told ABC. ‘I said, “Well, gee, this is for me”.’

She trains in the corridors of her Bronx apartment block, lifts weights and cycles on an exercise bike.

She also prefers to eat her evening meal – a hamburger, fish, or liver – for breakfast.

‘Gives me fuel for the day,’ she said.

And her health regime is paying dividends – she takes just one prescription drug and could easily pass for a woman 20 years younger.

She is determined to keep running as long as possible, and to outlive her grandmother, who survived until the age of 104.

‘Every year I am going to keep doing what I am doing, and when running time comes, if I feel I am ready, I will go at it,’ she said.

She turns 100 next May.

I Matter!

i totally matter

Over the weekend a client of mine made an extremely poignant discovery and statement that I want to share with you

“I matter”

This is a vital truth to us all that we too often either forget or discard.

I matter! You matter! We matter!

We give ourselves wholly to our jobs, our families, our friends and whatever other responsibilities are calling us. We make these things matter! And before long, they matter more than we do. And in even less time, it takes a toll on us. Our health, Our relationships, everything that truly matters.

It is of the utmost importance that you do not neglect yourself and your spiritual practice. Even Jesus spent the early hours of the morning in prayer and meditation, drawing close to God before setting out on his miracle filled days.

I love the way Iyanla Vanzant puts it. You are the cup and you need to be filled up and overflowing into the saucer and it is out of that saucer, out of your surplus, that you can pour into others’ lives, help others, bless others.

When we bless people out of our own strength, i.e. what is in our cup, the inevitable will happen, the cup will become empty, we will become depleted, tired and unable to give anyone anything. Including ourselves.

Your cup must stay full!

Something else that matters so much to us, is what we think others think of us. We give in to negative feelings about ourselves because someone said or did something mean to us. We feel their actions let us know that we do not matter. And we internalize this message. But this is not the truth! The truth is, and always will be…

You matter!

Today, be blessed! Be whole! Be complete! Do something to fill your cup!

Today, if someone is being mean to you, just smile and say “I matter!” even if only to yourself 🙂

i matter

Love and Blessings

Susan

I’m every Woman

Remember this song??

Good song BUT!!!….That is our reality as women. We always make ourselves everything for everyone.

Today, I encourage you to look not at who you are to others, but who you are to you.

Do something nice for you today! No matter how little.

Remember, YOU love you

Have an awesome day!

Money is like Manure…

Hello Dolly

Hello Dolly, starring the great Barbra Streisand is one of my favorite movie musicals of all time 🙂

And I love it when I can pull something from the movies into my entrepreneurship. Today, I am taking a quote from “Hello Dolly” and it goes like this:

“…Money, pardon the expression, is like Manure! It’s not worth a thing unless it is spread around encouraging young things to grow”

I love that quote and I think it is one worth taking to heart. In a time when we are all struggling for money, it is our knee-jerk reaction to hold on tight to every penny we get, but the irony of it is that the tighter you hold on to it, the more likely that you will lose it.

If you fear losing money…you WILL  in fact lose it.

You have to be open to the stream of money flowing in and through your life. Learn to trust that there is enough! Let it flow to you and let it flow from you, and let it flow right back to you again. It is spiritual law!!

If you stagnate the flow of anything, it will die. The same goes for money. If you stop the flow, it can not grow! Let it flow!

Believe that you can receive money, Believe that there is enough, and then open yourself to your intuitive leads showing you what you can do to make and keep more of that money.
